NATIONAL CURRICULUM
The following aims are identified in The National Curriculum Handbooks for
primary and secondary teachers:
The National Curriculum requires subjects to provide opportunities for ICT.
Pupils should be given opportunities to apply and develop their ICT
capability through the use of ICT tools to support their learning in all
subjects (except PE in Key Stages 1-2). Pupils should be given opportunities
to support their work by being taught to;
Find things out from a variety of sources, selecting and synthesising the
information to meet their needs and developing an ability to question its
accuracy, bias and plausibility.
Britkid is constructed on 2 levels, which broadly corresponds with the
following reading abilities;
- General Game Play = Key Stage 2
- Further Game play (hyperlinks to serious issues pages) = Key Stage 3
- NB.
- There are a few variations with occasional pages being higher/lower in
ability. This is to allow for flexibility and diversity within the Key Stage Groups and stops the site from being too mechanistic.
Please click on each subject to see a chart of how Britkid fits various
National Curriculum requirements. Alternatively you can go to the National
Curriculum Guide which shows an overview of Britkid's curriculum specifics.
