The first thing you have to do in a Hindu temple is take your shoes off. I think it's the same in the other religions from India and Pakistan - yeah, I'm sure that's right, you have to take your shoes off in a mosque as well. You have to sit on the floor and it's a way of keeping a temple special. It's a rule to do with keeping it clean I suppose, you leave off your outside shoes.
