Since my parents are from a place in western India called Gujerat, the language they grew up speaking was Gujerati (though actually they both speak another Indian language, Hindi, really well too). I understand Gujerati when other people speak it, but I don't use it much myself, I feel a bit awkward in it, like I can't say what I really want to, y'know.

I expect if I had lessons or went to India for a while I'd soon get to be really fluent. My Mum and Dad talk to each other in Gujerati quite a lot, and I know Dad uses it with his friends.

When we go to the temple the priest talks in Gujerati, so it's good to be able to understand him. This is what Gujerati looks like:
